We recently purchased a home that was likely smoked in and the smell was awful. I spoke to Travis in detail about how to get the smell out. He actually broke it down to a science and had taken chemistry classes for the cleaner he was using. I have never been explained carpet cleaning like this before. He was able to get the smell out as far as we can tell and even explained why some areas were still a bit dingey due to being high traffic.
